Tips You Need to Know For Your Echo Boards
As you have heard, This is a difficult exam if you do not take the time to prepare ahead of time. To do well on this exam you will need to do the following:
Understand The Physics of Ultrasound
Understanding how the echocardiography machine provides you with those amazing 3-D images is part of becoming a professional. This section is often used to distinguish those acting on pattern recognition and those who really know how ultraound works.
Don't Rely on High Quality Images
Many of the images given to you on the exam are of much lower quality than you are used to seeing clinicially. Don’t focus on this part, focus on the principle that they are attempting to test you on.
Be Able to Quantify What You See
The exam assumes you can differentiate between normal and abnormal. You will need to be able to quantify your findings to pass the boards. This means you will need to be able to perform many of the calculations that your echo machine now does for you automatically.
